Light breaks across a face surrounded by intersecting lines, circles, and restless passages of color. The portrait feels both intimate and in motion, as if the person and the space around them are changing together.

For Fula, New York offers countless ways to be seen and to begin again. This painting reflects that experience of reinvention: a city revealing unexpected sides of a person, while leaving room for who they might become.
