IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Black Walls Gallery
Jul 23, 2026 – Aug 23, 2026

About the exhibition

In medieval Europe, the eggplant was feared.

Known as the “Mad Apple,” some believed it could drive you insane. Once surrounded by superstition and cultural prejudice, it eventually became one of the Mediterranean’s most celebrated foods.

It has also been used throughout history in traditional medicine and folklore, where it was believed to aid everything from fertility and childbirth to healing—a single fruit carrying countless meanings across different cultures.
